After what we consider a pretty crazy year, it’s certainly important to build some comic relief into our lives. From the philosopher-comedian of our time Louis C.K, to the eccentric Maria Bamford, to Chris Tucker’s return to stand-up, 2016 is going to be a great year in the comedy circuit. Here are 10 Comedians on Tour in 2016.

Eddie Izzard

Eddie IzzardIn 2013, Eddie Izzard launched his “Force Majeur” World Tour, taking him to five continents, and bringing out four different languages to cross international barriers. After taking his routine to several different countries, Izzard gained more insight and a nuanced lens into his own material, allowing the “Force Majeure Revamped” Tour to be born. In addition to Izzard’s classic oddball bravery and eccentric anecdotes, he often breaks the fourth wall to give the audience context and history behind his routine. Essentially, Izzard has created a show about a show. Izzard’s “Force Majeur Revamped” World Tour is definitely a one-of-a kind feat.

Eddie Izzard Tour Dates: July 15, 2016 – July 31, 2016

Louis C.K

Louis C.KInstead of splitting his time between stand-up and producing his hit TV series Louis, the philosopher-comedian of our time decided to dedicate a full year to stand-up. Louis C.K’s extensive world tour wraps up at Madison Square Garden after a three night stint in September. According to recent show reviews, Louis C.K’s new material is refreshing in its relevance and its connectivity to the times. Louis C.K also continues to remark on his age, mortality in general, and his relationship to getting older. The comedian is often on the verge of offensiveness, but fans continue to find his whimsical and brave exploration into instincts, emotions, and hormones endearing.

Louis C.K Tour Dates: July 7, 2016 – September 15, 2016

Lewis Black

Lewis BlackLewis Black, known for his rage and shouting outbursts, is currently on tour and will be performing on Broadway this summer. The Grammy award-winning, Daily Show contributor has made a platform on commenting, typically with some sort of anger or disgust, on political events and figures. For five Mondays leading up to the national elections, Lewis Black will be hosting a political breakdown and roast of the candidates, their platforms, etc. Since this election has been especially eventful, we anticipate that Lewis Black will have some hilarious and astute observations of the times. According to the man himself, he “can’t wait to get mad about the madness”.

Lewis Black Tour Dates: July 27, 2016 – December 10, 2016

Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry SeinfeldLast year, Jerry Seinfeld began his monthly residence at New York City’s Beacon Theater. Seinfeld’s return to stand-up has been well received by New York audiences, and now, he’s preparing for a full-length North American tour which will bring him to cities all over through the end of December. The Seinfeld co-creator has taken time away from stand-up to conduct his hit web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the unscripted hit series which features Seinfeld chatting and discussing the industry with comedians such as Louis C.K, Bill Burr, Fred Armisen, Aziz Ansari, and Margaret Cho. Considering Jerry Seinfeld’s connections, we wouldn’t be surprised if he brings out a few surprise guests for his North American tour.

Jerry Seinfeld Tour Dates: July 7, 2016 – December 27, 2016

Hannibal Buress

Hannibal BuressSince Hannibal Buress took off from bombing open mics in Chicago to hosting his own Comedy Central TV show, he’s been a pretty busy guy. Though he’s fresh off his “Comedy Comisado” Tour, Buress will continue to tour through the end of the summer.  On top of performing stand-up and making several TV cameos, Hannibal Buress co-stars in The Andre Show and makes regular appearances in the hit Comedy Series TV show Broad City. Buress is a fresh, frank, and endearing comedian who is killing it in the very early stages of his career.

Hannibal Buress Tour Dates: July 8, 2016 – August 28, 2016

Flight of the Conchords

Flight of the ConchordsThe Wellington duo is back emanating their faux-rockstar aire for what will be their first tour in three years. It seems that their musical approach to comedy continues to be a winning formula. Consisting of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, the Flight of the Conchords have made a brand with their semi-inappropriate jingles remarking on absurdities and life’s uncomfortable moments, not to mention both are pretty decent musicians. For their current North American tour, Flight of the Conchords will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Nigel Collins, who will offer cello and double-bass tones. During their 80 minute set, audiences will get to hear both FOTC staples and never before released material.

Flight of the Conchords Tour Dates: June 27, 2016 – July 27, 2016

Jim Gaffigan

Jim GaffiganJim Gaffigan continues to be a jack of all trades. Not only is he a beloved stand-up comedian, but Gaffigan also stars in TV Land’s The Jim Gaffigan Show, and somehow also makes time to write (a few) best-selling novels. Gaffigan has set himself apart from his contemporaries by being a more “family friendly” comic, using his children, wife, and love of food as the bulk source of his material. But just because Gaffigan is more “politically correct” than other comics does not mean he’s shying from controversy, and we think we’ll hear plenty of Gaffigan’s opinions on the current election, specifically Mr. Trump.  “The Fully Dressed” Tour begins July 7th, and will reunite Gaffigan with his loyal audiences across 30 scheduled performances.

Jim Gaffigan Tour Dates: July 7, 2016 – December 31, 2016

Chris Tucker

Chris TuckerWhen Chris Tucker made his comedic comeback last year with his Netflix stand-up special Chris Tucker: Live, audiences anticipated that Tucker would take himself and the new material on tour. Though he hasn’t completed as many stand-up tours as other big comedians in the industry, Tucker has quite an impressive resume of acting roles carried out in the past ten years. In addition to building the Rush Hour franchise alongside Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker played a role in the Oscar award-winning drama Silver Linings Playbook. We’re excited that Chris Tucker is making his comeback to stand-up this year to be amongst one of many incredible touring comedians.

Chris Tucker Tour Dates: July 15, 2016 – July 30, 2016

Maria Bamford

Maria BamfordNot only is Maria Bamford known for her surreal and authentic comedic style, but she is an incredibly inspirational woman, having overcome her own mental health instability in order to create wonderful and strange art. This year, Bamford created and starred in the Netflix original Lady Dynamite, a show which illustrates her own life through absurdity and magical realism. From voice appearances on Nickelodeon’s CatDog, to creating and starring in the web series Ask My Mom, Maria Bamford has successfully diversified her career to accommodate many wonderful, whimsical comedic ventures. Maria Bamford’s stand-up comedy tour will certainly be as hilarious and unique as she is.

Maria Bamford Tour Dates: July 16, 2016 – December 10, 2016

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally

Nick Offerman Megan MullallyNick Offerman and Megan Mullally have extensively worked together on stage and on screen, not to mention being spouses as well. On the hit TV series Parks and Recreation, Mullally served a role as Tammy 2, Ron Swanson’s (Nick Offerman) dreaded second ex-wife, and ex-Tammy. Currently on their “Summer of 69: No Apostrophe” Tour, Mullally and Offerman are granting audiences a completely hilarious and uncomfortable intimacy into their relationship, in addition to performing songs, some light petting, topped off with an impressive final act. In between touring, the duo is working to produce a TV series together, so we will definitely be seeing more of this power couple both on screen and on stage.

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally Tour Dates: July 30, 2016 – October 12, 2016
