It’s turning out to be a busy year for the A$AP Mob, with even more material coming your way. Last month, A$AP Rocky helped complete the long awaited Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy. Not to mention there are projects from A$AP Ferg, A$AP Nast and Key! that are due to arrive before the end of 2017. But the most exciting news coming from the mob is that A$AP Rocky is hard at work on the follow-up to 2015’s At.Long.Last.A$AP. According to the Harlem rapper’s Twitter, his latest studio LP will arrive sometime before the end of the year.
According to a recent interview with The Evening Standard, Flacko has been writing and recording in London. “It’s just special to me for some reason,” he explained. “I express myself way better when I’m in an environment that allows me to be. When I’m here, for the most part, I’m in a peaceful, creative environment and I’m testing the waters and making new music, messing around with new sounds and anything that’s innovative.”
“[I’ve] been working a lot with my boy Skepta, just exchanging energy and vibes in a brotherly way,” he told The Evening Standard before later proclaiming his love for grime—a form of rap originating in the U.K which often veers towards gritty descriptions of Urban life. As far as the vibe of A$AP Rocky’s upcoming project, the rapper describes it as “futuristic”. “This new album is just basically like all my albums: evolved,” he added. “They’ve been missing me, they’ve been waiting for me, they need some new music, they need some new sounds, new waves, new swag, new everything. And who’s the man you go to for that? Yours truly. So I’m back, like I never left.”
In addition to British grime rapper Skepta, A$AP Rocky has worked with Swoosh God, D.R.A.M, producer Metro Boomin, and others on his upcoming project. Last month, A$AP Rocky dropped a snippet of a new song, rumored to be titled “Wok”. You can check out the preview of the song below.
Fans can be assured, that in addition to dropping LSD to aide the creative flow, becoming a fashion icon, and opening an exclusive bodega-inspired pop-up shop with Selfridges in London, A$AP Rocky has been hard at work on his upcoming project. More recently, A$AP Rocky could be heard on the Cardi B assisted G-Eazy track “No Limit“. Don’t forget, A$AP Mob’s “Too Cozy Tour” kicks off October 11th, and continues through the end of this Fall.
