The Queen + Adam Lambert collaboration began in 2009 when Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor teamed up with Lambert during the eighth season of American Idol. Though Lambert finished second in the competition, he was able to maintain a relationship with the former Queen members, who were finally in the presence of a vocalist who could touch the vocal range of the late Freddie Mercury. Now, after a few years of on and off again touring, Queen + Adam Lambert have announced a 25-city tour through the U. S this summer, beginning June 23rd and concluding on August 5th.

Lambert, May, and Taylor are the only three members in the official, revamped Queen, but the group has been supported on stage by musicians such as keyboardist Spike Edney, bassist Neil Fairclough and percussionist/Taylor’s son, Rufus Tiger Taylor. Considering that Brian May and Roger Taylor have been in the industry for decades, we think they will be able to rally plenty of surprise guests for the upcoming Queen tour. Openers for the tour have yet to be announced, but we’re hopeful we’ll see some incredible performers on the bill.

It’s been awhile since Queen and Adam Lambert brought their act to the U.S, their last tour taking place throughout Europe and Japan. Though Queen and Adam Lambert have never been in the studio together, they released the concert LP Live in Japan last year. The upcoming Queen + Adam Lambert Tour, due to the popularity of the group and timeless quality of Queen’s music, will be a large-scale arena tour, and includes venues such as Barclays Center, L.A’s Hollywood Bowl, and American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Tickets for the Queen + Adam Lambert tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 3rd @ 10 AM EST. Though, if you’re a member of Queen and/or Adam Lambert’s fan club, you’ll have access to tickets beginning Tuesday, January 31st, at 10 AM EST.
