Just yesterday, Lana Del Rey released a new music video for “White Mustang“, a five minute ballad about a short-lived romance. The song is off her latest album Lust for Lifewhich arrived this past July. Much like Lana Del Rey’s other music videos, the visuals are retro-tinged, slow moving, and amorous. The clip stars Icelandic actor/musician Eðvarð Egilsson and Lana in a futuristic vision of Los Angeles, taking a ride in none other than a beautiful White Mustang.

When it comes to visualizing her own music, Lana Del Rey continues to deliver, bringing to life one of her most personal tracks to date. Check out the “White Mustang” music video below.

In an interview with MTV, Lana Del Rey deemed “White Mustang” one of the tracks that is most melodically and thematically related to her own life, much like her hit singles “Blue Jeans” and “Video Games”. She goes on to say that creating moving collages has always been one of her hobbies, a fact which is strongly felt in every one of her music videos, “White Mustang” included.

One of the most compelling moments in the video is when the song cuts out halfway through, while Lana and Egilsson are together beneath an abandoned underpass, and a piped-in salsa tune begins playing as the pair dance alone and a single rocket soars into the sky above. By the end of the music video, Lana is alone but out on top: cruising down the highway in a white Mustang, a coy smile playing on her lips as she relives her short, but unforgettable romance.

Look out for more music videos off Lana Del Rey’s incredible new album Lust for Life, in addition to the announcement of upcoming tour dates. So far, Lana is scheduled to perform two nights at Terminal 5 this Fall.
